Happy Birthday Lily!

Today my sweet girl turns four. 4! I know.
It's hard to say where the time goes. Everyone tells you that it will go by so fast, but until you experience it, it just doesn't compute.

In the blink of an eye she has grown from a baby to a girl. When she's asleep, I can still see the baby in her, but when she's awake time flashes forward and I can see what she will look like when she's 10, 20 and 30.

She can't wait for the school year to start again and is excited to be with her teachers and classmates. One more year of preschool and then she starts kindergarten. Gulp. How did that happen?

I am so proud of my girl - she is smart and funny and creative and at times, fiercely independent. A little bit like her mom. Ok, a lot. But on the other hand she is so much like her dad too. Stubborn, sweet and silly. She can be challenging and easy to be with, all in the span of 5 minutes. And look out for the Tiger Lily when she hasn't eaten. (That part is all her dad.)

I guess what I want to say to her is this:

Lily, Lil, Lilla, Poodle, Pea, Peanut and Lily Ruth. I love you bigger than the sky. Thank you for coming into my life and making my heart fifty sizes bigger than I ever thought it could be. You make me laugh every single day and for that gift I am so grateful. You are my world and I love you. Happy birthday sweet girl. Enjoy your day.
