Google has once again been somewhat resistant to me posting...
But its actions to keep me off the web have been thwarted! THWARTED I TELL YOU!
Anyway, on Friday of this week we had the company golf tourney; at Millwoods golf course.
I know, many of you are thinking...Bryan playing golf, out in the sun...and you'd be right!
By hole 13 I was starting to get a headache, by hole 16 I felt like my brain was melting. Yes that's right, once again the accursed sun got the better of me. I was lucky/unlucky to get in with the first group of golfers in our Texas scramble tourney (well more so for fun then anything else)
And after a short while I realized I need my own clubs if my ability is going to be anything more then sporadic good shots.
I had fun, I enjoyed my time out in the sun....to a point, that point me getting sunstroke and having...hmm whats the opposite of quality time...in the bathroom. So I didn't get to stay for the meal, a buffet, that included steaks...I didn't get to stay for the draw of prizes and other assorted gifts from all our suppliers and other companies we do business with...but I did walk away with one of the hats and nice yellowy/green windbreakers (being serious there, I like the windbreaker.)
I thanked my boss for the golf and the jacket and quickly hailed a cab and the moment I got inside I headed straight to bed.
By now I have recovered sufficiently to work tomorrow.
All that being said, aside from that I am in a bit of a snit with the apprenticeship board, they had no record of me having anything past a grade nine education, and as such would not grant me a spot in one of the classes for apprentice training until I sent them transcripts....so this delayed me by a week, I will be trying to get in this week...hopefully all the spots are not taken and I will be able to get into school this fall. If not...I will simply get the books and study and challenge the exam, I mean I only need a 70, how hard is that after all...
I figured I would just babble about me, my lovely wife keeps everyone apprised of all that goes on with her and our wonderful little girl.
Until next time.

This was a project for one of the mommy web boards I belong to. Each week one of us takes pictures for a whole day, outlining a typical day in our life. It was a lot of fun to do! You don't realize all the things you do in a day until you have to document it. I didn't include shots of the dishwasher, laundry or bathroom cleaning I did - no one wants to see that.
(There are a couple of shots of Lily nursing, but you don't get to see my tatas. Apologies to those that are uncomfortable with nursing shots, and to those who just wanted to see tatas.)

She sat up on her own. Until now, Miss Lily has been perfectly content to sit only when we put her in a sitting position. Otherwise, she sits for about a millisecond, and then flips onto her tummy, and takes off.
She's been close to sitting on her own, but has been too busy eating paper, chasing the cat, playing with lint, chewing on toys, contemplating her toes...you get the picture. Today, in her crib, she maneuvered herself into a semi-sit, and then kind of popped up. She did it on the floor, without the crib rails for leverage, later on.
Today we spent the day running around. I was taking a photo essay for a web board I belong to. A Day in the Life... of Carrie and Lily. It was fun to do, and it was a nice day to be out and about.
I'll add a link to it once it's complete. My day isn't done yet, so my Day in the Life isn't quite done either.

I haven't blogged in forever.
Forgive me?
Here's a cute picture of Lily to help you forget that I forgot to blog...
(Lily and her Aunt Darlene, Dad, Aunt Heather and Grandma's legs...)
The last couple of weeks have been busy. I had my surgery, and spent 4 days at my mom and dad's. They looked after Lily while I rested and recovered. I don't know who had more fun: Lily or my parents.
After I came home, I spent 3 days in my garden. Well, I mostly held bags open and did a little weeding. Mom and dad came over to help dig and mow, as I wasn't able to do it. (Even if I thought I could...)
Lily has also been busy. At Grandma and Grumpa's, she tried a bunch of new foods. Chicken, mushrooms, grapes, roast beef, asparagus, cauliflower and cheese and other things I can't remember. She's such a good eater. Sometimes she makes a face, but she still tries everything. I can only hope she'll stay this way. I don't want her to be a picky eater. (Like her dad, who claims he isn't a picky eater...) Miss Lily has also been busy cutting not one, not two, not even three but FOUR teeth at once. Ouch. Her top teeth are coming in. She now has 5 1/2 teeth - the last one is there, but not quite through the gum. I'm not allowed to touch them, so it's hard to tell today.
I had my first Mother's Day, and it was very nice. Bryan bought me a card from him, and then gave me one from Lily. It was so sweet. Lily held the pen, and he wrote...
Lily celebrated the day by perfecting her raspberry. She can blow fat juicy ones now - a warning to all who may experience one, have a hanky handy.

I am spending the weekend at my mom and dad's, while I rest up from my surgery. I feel pretty good. I'm tired but sore. Kinda like I've been doing situps for a couple of days.
I'll post more when I'm feeling up to it. Thank you to all for the phone calls, emails and cards - it's nice to know that I am loved! Right back at you...

I am off to the hospital in the morning, at the ungodly hour of 6am. Surgery is at 9am. Hopefully I will be home in the afternoon. Lily will be with her Grandma and Grumpa Carbol, and I'm sure she will be just fine. She probably won't even notice I'm not there.
I'll update when I am back home.
