We are back in the land of the teething child.

I hate teething. Or rather, Lily hates it.

She went through a bout of it at Christmas time, but we think it was just the final set of molars coming through her jaw bone. Not a fun experience. Now, we are into the final stage of these coming through. At least now she can tell us that her teeth hurt. I'm so glad she has a large vocabulary. Sentences are few and far between, but when she says "Mumma, teeth, ouch, pbmefjewkble" at least we know to break out the teething tablets.

Tuesday was not a fun day. Lily woke up on the wrong side of the bed and stayed there all day. My sweet, fun, happy-go-lucky, pleasant little girl was a sourpuss all day. She rarely has a day like that, which made the day that much more frustrating for me. Yesterday was a bit better, but she wasn't much fun for her dad while I was at work last night. She didn't want to get up from her afternoon nap (she usually doesn't want to have an afternoon nap - that should have been a clue) and howled at her dad for a good 10 minutes before she calmed down. Bryan said she went down to sleep really well - not a peep from her after 8:15. I went in to check on her at 11pm and found...

A naked baby. Jammies in a rumpled ball at one end of her crib, diaper stuck to her teddy bear. And a sleepy naked baby on a damp blankie. (She also had an illicit soother -we are currently weaning her off her sleep time soother - no soother at night, only for naps. And the nap time one is going away soon too. I can only tolerate so much crying in a day, so we compromised, for now, on the nap time soother. When Bryan got her up from her afternoon nap he forgot to confiscate the soother. Whoops!)

Apparently, when it's 22 degrees, a toddler really doesn't want to sleep in fleece pyjamas. Daddy didn't realize this, and put her in the fleecy ones, not the cotton shortie pyjamas that she wore the night before. Lily took matters into her own hands, and removed the offending pyjamas. Not sure what the diaper was about. At least it was only pee on the sheets...

So Lily got to spend some quality time with her Mumma while we did a late night load of laundry. Auntie Tracy - we really need that spare blankie!

Here's hoping that she is happier today.

Poor Lily!

I'm glad she's in the getting naked and diaper removal phase too.

On Sunday morning, I found Evan with only a t-shirt on - shorts and poopy diaper removed! Thankfully he hadn't dumped it out...there were just his little skid marks all over the sheets! GROSS!

Yuck! Lily doesn't usually poop at night, thank goodness.

She let me check, and the top two molars are through, and I can feel the edge of the bottom two. After that - NO MORE TEETH! She's done until they fall out for adult teeth. That happens around 6 right? Four years in between teething is not long enough for me.
