I woke up this morning to a strange sight...

I was dozing, halfway between awake and asleep. I heard what I thought were birds outside the window. The magpies often sit on the corner of the house, so I am used to hearing scratchy type noises out there. Then I saw the shadowy outline of a squirrel ON THE SCREEN! Our little friend Finnegan...

Contrast the shadow of the squirrel with the shadow of a very large grey cat. Leo launched himself from a full out sleeping cat to attack cat in nanoseconds. He didn't quite calculate that the distance from the bed to the top of the window is a little different than top of window to floor. I don't know who was more surprised, the squirrel or the cat.

Sometimes Mother Nature is better than an alarm clock...
